Exploration, proposals and partnership
The June 2023 Creative Industries Sector Vision commits to exploring know-your-business-customer approaches with technology and creative sectors. The July 2023 advertising consultation response proposes duties for platforms, intermediaries and publishers concerning paid-for or reciprocal illegal ads, with further consultation and legislation still required. Direct advertisers, owned media and free classifieds have different treatment. The March 2026 Fraud Strategy names DCMS with the Home Office and IAB UK in a partnership due to report to ministers in early 2027.
