Legislator converting a presented concept into a formal drafting request
Christie New Craig is the Virginia senator identified in the Joint Commission on Technology and Science's 2024 membership roster. Its December proceedings record her request for a device-age bill draft following an ICMEC presentation, connecting her commission role to a specific legislative action.
At the 3 December 2024 meeting, the commission reported that Craig's concept resulted from Bob Cunningham's 6 November device-based age presentation and that she had submitted a Division of Legislative Services draft request. The original request and resulting versions were not acquired. The record establishes initiation of drafting, rather than passage of a law or authorship of every later provision.

Virginia's JCOTS annual report records Cunningham's November6,2024 device-based age presentation and the commission's questions. Its December3 proceedings explicitly say Senator Craig's device-age bill concept resulted from that presentation and that she submitted a DLS draft request. This is an unusually clear institutional counterpart for agenda uptake. It is not proof of enacted legislation or authorship of every later provision.
