Regulatory advertising duty linked to an industry-facing list

Gambling Commission

The Gambling Commission is the UK regulator whose licence condition 16.1.1 addresses responsible placement of digital advertising. It separately promotes PIPCU's Infringing Website List as an aid to avoiding copyright-infringing destinations.

Condition and guidance

The inspected condition requires avoiding advertising on copyright-infringing destinations and taking reasonable steps concerning relevant third parties. A 2017 announcement encourages IWL use alongside that requirement. It does not declare every listed domain universally unlawful for every advertiser or establish that a particular gambling operator adopted the list.
