Industry certifier whose standards and determinations face public scrutiny
The Trustworthy Accountability Group is an advertising-industry certification organisation addressed in the February 2025 Senate inquiry. It later reported investigating the matter under its Brand Safety Certified guidelines and finding no violations by the investigated companies.
The senators asked whether certified firms could monetise a website engaged in illegal activity while avoiding the prohibited content itself, along with review and revocation questions. TAG's 2025 report and February 2026 announcement report no Brand Safety Certified violations, explain accreditation limits and refer to a twenty-three-page response. That is TAG's own determination; the complete response and named findings were not acquired for independent assessment.
