Researcher-side witnesses to application friction and access outcomes

Collaboratory participants — voluntary researcher accounts

These are researchers and nonprofit organisations voluntarily contributing their experiences to the DSA40 Data Access Collaboratory. They supply accounts of platform applications and may receive practical application support. The collective represents participating reporters, not every researcher seeking access under the Digital Services Act.

What a submitted experience can show

The Collaboratory combines application assistance with collection of reported statuses and refusal reasons. Its September 2026 material includes partial reasons involving research purpose, necessity, completeness, affiliation and location. The organisers contest some categories, but that assessment is not a regulator's ruling on an individual case. Its separate issue tracker records practical service problems, including historical Meta submission interruption and a TikTok data outage. Particular tracked applicants are not identified in the acquired record, and an accepted application does not itself show that usable data arrived.
