Research institution hosting publication and interpretation of access evidence
The Weizenbaum Institute is the institutional publication setting for the September 2025 policy paper on research access to platform data associated with the DSA40 Collaboratory. The paper situates practical application experiences within a broader discussion of how the Digital Services Act's research provisions operate.
The paper's cover and imprint place it in September 2025; the Collaboratory publications index dates the listing to 22 September. Its institutional credit names Germany's Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space and the State of Berlin as Weizenbaum funders. The same paper separately credits Mercator Stiftung for the joint Collaboratory project. That institutional credit is not proof those bodies funded this particular study or determined the tracker's categories. The authors' leadership, the project's open recruitment and application-support mission do establish a closer organiser/study relationship than an independent audit of platform decisions.
