From the investigation

Jaan Tallinn: funding and the division of labor in AI politics

Credit arrangements reveal obligations that donation totals miss. On 31 March 2023 , Lightcone's Oliver Habryka described a $20 million property-and-renovation loan from Tallinn-owned Slimrock Investments Pte. Ltd. His 13 December 2025 fundraiser describes a separate $1.7 million FTX-settlement advance: Tallinn would pay half of future grant recommendations until $1.29 million had been withheld. This shows how an earlier arrangement can affect later disbursements. Loan documents, current balances, and consent rights remain unexamined; these terms cannot be imported into ControlAI's grants.
