Gates and Anthropic: follow the infrastructure

The Gates announcement describes a joint $200m commitment over four years, mixing grants, API credits and support. It promises shared public goods across public-service fields.

Anthropic’s account adds operational connections: interfaces, evaluation tools, health-ministry work and an IDM integration. These are worth following beyond the announcement.

Our structural reading: funding adoption can influence the tools and standards institutions use for years. Open resources could reduce dependence; restrictive data or access terms could increase it. Agreements will distinguish those outcomes.
