Individual governance bridge between ROOST and a contributing platform
Clint Smith
Clint Smith is listed on ROOST's current team page as a co-chair and with a legal-leadership affiliation at Discord. He is also the named participant author of an account of Osprey's donation and subsequent development, connecting organisational leadership with a production-user perspective.
A dated governance record
ROOST's December 2025 inaugural-board announcement used the title Chair, while the later team page lists Smith as co-chair. The distinction preserves the dated descriptions rather than treating them as contradictory simultaneous offices. The retained sources establish his named position and Discord affiliation, but contain no instrument assigning that seat to Discord or specifying the company's power to appoint or remove its holder.
is listed with a professional legal-leadership affiliation
ROOST current team and participant article identify Discord affiliation. Affiliation helps assess the production account as interested participant evidence; it does not establish a corporate reserved board vote.
Current team page lists Smith as co-chair; December 2025 announcement used Chair. This is a named individual office, not proof Discord appoints or controls that seat.
The coalitions are also less tidy than a division between startups and incumbents. On 1 November 2024 , Andreessen and Horowitz coauthored an AI policy statement with Microsoft's Satya Nadella and Brad Smith, explicitly proposing collaboration across small and large firms. The later OpenAI financing is another reason not to treat “Little Tech” as a permanent category of company size or a prohibition on incumbent alliances.
