The user-facing gate between a platform and verification vendors
Discord’s collection of age-checking methods and regional feature restrictions. The retained company documentation distinguishes facial age estimation, identity-document checks and limited tests involving payment cards or Google Wallet. Different methods involve different providers and data paths.
Discord’s July 2026 UK page names k-ID and describes facial estimation as on-device, with a separate ID route. Users who decline verification retain specified communication functions while some content and settings remain gated. August documentation describes Google Wallet as a test receiving age-group and country signals; it does not describe sending passport images to Discord. Card verification is also a limited test. These are the company’s descriptions of operation and privacy, rather than an independent audit or proof of global availability.
