National assessment authorities behind an international list-distribution service

WIPO ALERT national contributors

WIPO ALERT national contributors supply lists developed under their own national processes. They retain responsibility for assessment, accuracy and updates, while WIPO provides a distribution layer for authorised advertising users.

Assessment and review

The 2019 framework describes reasonable suspicion of deliberate infringement or facilitation under national processes, rather than requiring a final judgment for every entry. Contributors are responsible for prompt removal updates and retain national challenge routes. The FAQ describes notifying other contributors when a shared entry is deleted elsewhere. That notification does not force deletion from every national list or require advertisers to restore business; the published Brazil and Japan procedures illustrate differing processes.
