Political coordination forum translating shared priorities into national follow-up
G7 Digital and Technology Ministers
The G7 Digital and Technology Ministers are the ministerial forum behind the 29 May 2026 declaration on digital technology and a common set of principles for minors' online safety. Their official commitments combine AI risk-framework discussion with support for openness and wider adoption.
Commitments and follow-up
The ministers committed to discussion of risk-framework comparability with an international evaluation network and the OECD, without adopting a common threshold or coordinated slowdown trigger. They also adopted minors principles. UNICEF reported supplying evidence beforehand. On 17 June, G7 leaders asked ministers to meet regularly and review progress by year end; the record establishes that request, not a completed review or a common implementing law.
