National standards channel connecting UK expertise to an international framework
BSI IST/33/5/5 is the UK age-assurance standards panel associated with national input into ISO/IEC 27566-1. BSI's October 2025 biography lists Tony Allen as chair, and its February 2026 announcement describes collaboration across regulators, industry and civil society.
BSI says the panel coordinated UK input into JTC 1/SC 27/WG 5. Its account presents the resulting framework as technology-neutral and not always requiring full identity verification.
