Shared policy language developed across regulatory, commercial and civil-society participants
The WEF digital-safety principles are a joint policy-development output described by the World Economic Forum on 9 January 2023. The working group brought together platform companies, regulators and civil-society organizations, and WEF described the principles as complementing eSafety's Safety by Design framework.
WEF names WeProtect, Ofcom, Google, Microsoft, Meta and Amazon among participants in the principles work. Its stated connection to eSafety is one of complementary frameworks. These records establish convening and joint policy development; they do not give the WEF statutory authority over the regulator or identify a campaign-specific payment by each participating company.
