AI Risk Mitigation Fund

An AI-focused grantmaking fund listed as a tentative contributor to Lightcone Commons.

Background

The Commons participant list identifies Caleb Parikh as managing director and lists approximately $2 million of tentative first-round participation. Parikh says some outgoing LTFF managers plan to continue part-time grantmaking through this fund and Commons.

Announced move to Lightcone

Habryka’s December 2025 account says ARM became a Lightcone programme under substantial Parikh leadership. ARM’s About page still identifies Effective Ventures donation entities. The programme announcement is established; the legal transfer instrument remains the useful next record.

The people connecting the arrangements

Habryka bridges the outgoing LTFF and the Commons platform he founded. Parikh bridges LTFF, the ARM Fund, Commons evaluation and an advisory role at the new TAIF. Lowe Lundin heads TAIF , with a new full-time team.

Who allocates the money?

Commons' tentative first-round list includes Tallinn with $10 million conditional on another $10 million, Moskovitz with approximately $5 million, and the LTFF and ARM Fund. Confirmed evaluators include Yudkowsky, Soares, Parikh and Habryka. A separate wish list names people who have not agreed; we have not mapped that list as participation.

Who can actually authorize a grant?

That makes the movement of the AI Risk Mitigation Fund significant. In a December 2025 fundraising account, Habryka announced that ARM had become a Lightcone programme under substantial leadership from Caleb Parikh. ARM's own website still describes donations through Effective Ventures' US or UK charities. The announced move is clear; a current sponsorship instrument would settle how outstanding restrictions and liabilities travelled with it. Lightcone account , ARM disclosure
