A grant is a resource with a purpose.
FLI’s 2025 audited accounts report $45,197,838 in grants from Lightcone Foundation. That establishes scale. It does not tell us how much was spent on public persuasion or who approved a specific video. Asset transfers between related bodies also cannot be counted as independent donations each time they move.

Creator support comes in different forms.
People First’s published influencer terms include approval, revisions and conditional payment. Frame describes an independent creator track alongside work to institutional briefs, and denies funder control over content or selection. A creator acknowledged FLI, Frame and BlueDot support while asserting editorial independence.
ControlAI and Rational Animations publicly acknowledged a partnership; its fee and agreement were not obtained. The sponsor behind Sabine Hossenfelder’s original account remains unidentified. These are different arrangements, not interchangeable evidence of script control.

Selection can influence the conversation.
Funding people who already share a concern can expand that concern’s reach without anyone rewriting a script. This is an interpretation of how selection works; identifying control over an individual output requires its actual agreement and approval history.
ControlAI’s UK company articles put formal authority in its directors. Public filings help answer who can manage the organisation, while leaving major donor conditions unresolved.
A campaign has a production chain.
The Global Call for AI Red Lines names CeSIA, The Future Society and CHAI as organisers, with ControlAI and FLI among partners providing feedback. Evan Hubinger is listed as a signatory. Those are specific roles in a shared campaign.
The Call is different from A Narrow Path. A signature on one does not endorse every proposal in the other, and a proposed oversight institution is not an operating government body.
